New Redwork Block of the month at Sewn with Luv!  This beautiful quilt & fabrics (check out the fabrics.... )were designed by Lynette Anderson and is a redwork stitchery BOM that we will be working on starting January 24th 2013 with Debbie Gilpin instructing. Debbie is known for her beautiful hand embroidered quilts, precise piecing and beautiful bindings so you don't want to miss her BOM class.  Look for these classes the 4th Thursday, 10-noon for the next 6 months. This is a picture of our "Thangles" BOM that will be starting this month and will be taught by Pamela Mayo.  Pamela is a new member of our staff and is enthusiastic and knowledgeable and I am sure you will enjoy her fun style. This next block of the month is a Kathi Campbell design by the name of "Heart and Home".

This class will be taught by me ( Kathleen) and will be a chance for you to try several types applique.

Needle-turn applique is my favorite but I will be there to help you try several styles in the hopes that you will find one way that suites you.  You can see a sample of my work in the store. This class will also be on a Sunday afternoon starting January 27th from 1-4pm. There is no set fabric for this applique quilt so feel free to use up some of your stash on this one!

 

 

                                              

Patiently Waiting

As the weather changes and winter starts to set in I hope you all are enjoying more opportunities to slow down a bit and get back to your sewing projects. I luv the change of seasons, the fall leaves and the nip in the air!
  Starting the Sunday afternoon following Thanksgiving there will be a very easy Christmas
Stocking class 1-3pm , $10 class instruction fee.
  Dec. 4th -21st are "Stuff-My-Stocking" days. During this period of time there will be product specials at a special price emailed to you.  If you would like to purchase the item you call the store and tell us to "stuff you stocking". We will put the item into a holiday bag with your name on it and hold that item for you. This will continue until the 21st of December.  When you are finished collecting goodies you or your designated person can pick up and pay for your items. Then you have a nice little goody bag to put under the tree for yourself or maybe a friend! You actually get things that you want or need for Christms!  You could also do this as a wonderful gift for your sewing buddy.
The items at special pricing offered in the "Stuff my Stocking" promotion will only be available the day designated for that item.  There will be a limited supply of all items so call early in the day.  You can let me know if you would like to participate 770-304-1866 and we will put your name on a bag. You can also add paid items to a friends bag for an added surprise!

New Fabrics - Kasuri & Silent Cinema

We have Kasuri a new fabric line from Moda. This line works really well with the Daiwabo fabrics that are also in the shop. Lots of new jelly rolls are on the shelves as well as other new fabric.

Well I am off to Denver again for my daughter's wedding!  While I am away the ladies may be dreaming up some specials for you, so please check each day to see what is going on at the shop.
I know it is hot outside but the Christmas and fall fabrics are in and it is never to early to get started on your holiday projects. The fall fabric is from Timeless Treasure and is quite beautiful with a metallic touch.
When you come in the shop please make sure you get yourself signed up for the drawing to take place in  November. We will be giving away a "Little Go" accuquilt cutter with a couple of dies. You can cut those great 2.5 inch strips that are so popular with this die cutter. One ticket per visit so come back often!
Classes coming up
_Toni Steedly's Serger class will be on Thursday August 9th.  This is a class I know all of you with sergers will want to take.  She will be teaching you how to make some really quick and easy holiday gifts. See her samples in the store. Please call and sign up right away. 770-304-1866
Laura Bosma's wool craft class will be on the second Tuesday of the month, the 14th. There is more than one project for that day so please come in and look at the samples. ( And of course pick up your raffle ticket!!)
Valerie Cuttie's Beginning Fabric Basket Making will be on Saturday, the 18th of August. A great class that requires very little fabric to make a quick gift. Sample in the store
Eileen Reid will be teaching a quilt making class called "Double Trouble". This is an off-shoot of the disappearing 9-patch technique. Sample in the store.
Class will take place on the Wednesday the 29th of August 10-2pm.
Jane Spain will be teaching a purse making class on Friday August 31st. Jane has been making  & selling some exceptional purses and by my request she has agreed to share her sewing talents with us. See her sample in the store.
Class is 10:30-2:30.

Butterfly fabric
