Almost Christmas!

The store will be closed until Jan 3rd for the Holidays and inventory. Hope you all have a wonderful holiday.

I have enjoyed being home today to wrap presents and do a little baking. My daughter & her fiance arrived safely from Denver despite the weather. Moose is taking a nap and the birds are taking their weekly bath since it is sunny and warm.

Miss seeing you all at the store but welcome the break. See you soon. Kathleen

A Christmas Wish

During this Christmas Season when we all have so much to be thankful for I hope you will remember the ones without voices, the ones we promise to love and take care of, the ones we have domesticated and the ones we cannot....

A Prayer for Animals

Hear our humble prayer, O God, for our friends the animals,
especially for animals who are suffering;
for animals that are overworked, underfed and cruelly treated;
for all wistful creatures in captivity that beat their wings against bars;
for any that are hunted or lost or deserted or frightened or hungry;
for all that must be put death.
We entreat for them all Thy mercy and pity,
and for those who deal with them we ask a heart of compassion
and gentle hands and kindly words.
Make us, ourselves, to be true friends to animals,
and so to share the blessings of the merciful.

Wishing you the most wonderful Christmas ever!
Filled with love, laughter and of course a snuggle with a furry friend!

Sewn with Luv News for November 1st

Primitive Quilts Winter issue magazine is now avaiable, limited quantities available.
I just got back from Quilt Market on Monday afternoon, and brought back samples of some of the lovely fabrics I saw. It was great fun seeing people like Ricky Tims, Kaffe Fassett, Amy Butler and Jason Yenter, to name a few! Lots of beautiful new projects to sew and I had a really hard time making up my mind what to buy for the store.

Picked a block of the month that I hope will be something many of you will want to participate in.

.

I also picked an applique quilt that will be easy enough for those new to applique and classisc enough for all.

Look for these projects to start sometime after the first of the year.

Just a peek at a few of the beautiful quilts I saw in Houston..........

Hi All! Hope you all will stop by and check things out! There is some new flannel in the shop and Susan Freeman was kind enough to make a BQ quilt out of it to show it off. There are several kits made up in the flannel to make decisions easier for you !
I did bring in some more neutral colored spools of Aurifil for those of you that just-gotta-have-it.
Lots of little holiday gift ideas around the store for that special quilter. Please take time to check out the store website at www.sewnwithluv.com. There is a class & event calendar so you can keep up with classes as they are added. You can also sign up for them online and pay any fee that is applicable through PayPal.
Karla Singer is coming to teach Cotton Theory quilting on October 6, Thursday. Hope you can make it. This is a quilt as you go method.
Mona Wynn and her daughter Brenda Smith are teaching a purse class on Sat. Oct. 15th . These ladies are very talented and I am very excited that they decided to teach this class. There are several examples of their work in the store.
Corinne Echols will be teaching a ongoing wedding ring quilt class starting Oct 1st.
Please check the store website for more details.
The shop will be closed Oct. 20th and the 29th so please make a note on your calendar.
This is kinda a mid-way point of the first year of Sewn with Luv and it has grown with leaps & bounds (& with walls coming down!) I am looking forward to going to market (end of Oct.) in Houston for the first time as a quilt shop owner. Hoping to come back with lots of new ideas to share with all of you.
P.S. I just ordered some bolts of two highly requested fabric lines that will come in sometime in the next few months. Not saying which ones, just keep in touch!

I also got in a few lg cones of Masterpiece 50wt thread in neutral colors and some variegated King Tut thread.

    New fabric at the store from P&B. Beautiful fall colors with a touch of gold.  There is a very nice panel that can be cut up into eight pieces or used all together.

                                       This is a lovely little fabric box called "Pockets" that Mona Wynn surprised  me with!  I have ordered patterns if you would like to make one for yourself.

These fabric bowls were made by Valerie Cuttie and she will be sharing this technique with us on Sunday July 31st, 1-4 pm for just $25.

My husband made this wonderful new cutting table for the store. Isn't it nice, lots more room for cutting.  Just waiting on my new cutting mat to come in.
